Description

Once the home of city founder Zarco, this quinta is now an Applied Arts museum. The old storerooms are devoted to 16C Portuguese furniture found in homes of Funchal. In the last room is a Flemish altarpiece dating from the second half of the 15C depicting the Nativity. A quirky archaeological park-cum-outdoor museum displays some fine Manueline windows and a fragment of Funchal's pillory.
