Église des Cordeliers
The Green Guide
The Michelin Guide's review
The Cordeliers arrived in Fribourg in 1256 and built this convent which soon became a focal point in the town, receiving prestigious guests and a bookbinding workshop and a library. In the 18C, the buildings were completely transformed. The church is today famous for its altarpiece, a masterpiece completed in Soleure and Basel in 1480, which hangs above the main altar.
