The Michelin Guide's review
This state-owned forest, in the heart of which the town of Fleurines is to be found, stretches over an undulating plateau at an average altitude of 100m. The highest point is Mt Pagnotte, one of the "peaks" of the region surrounding Paris, but be sure to enjoy the superb panoramic views from the Butte d'Aumont. A beautiful beech forest extends over the surrounding area, an estate that the Capetian dynasty never gave up. The south of the massif has a more diverse array of species: oaks, hornbeams and pines.
