The Michelin Guide's review
On the banks of the lake, this lavish villa epitomises the luxurious tastes of the Belle Époque. Built in 1896, it was the second work of Antoine Lumière, (father of Louis, the inventor of the cinematograph), after the Château du Clos in La Ciotat. The caryatids are by Lyon artist, Devaux, inspired by Pierre Puget's atlas figures in Toulon. Other highlights include the ground-floor decoration and the main staircase.
