Christian Skredsvig's House
The Green Guide
The Michelin Guide's review
The house in which Christian Skredsvig lived from 1854 until his death in 1924 stands on a hilltop overlooking the valley. The original barn was transformed into a family home, lived in by Skredsvig's family after his death until 1960. The furniture and paintings (150 works by the master of the house and his friends) have remained as they were while he was alive. The rural and animal paintings of this much-travelled painter who studied in Copenhagen, Munich and Paris are inspired by the landscapes of the Sigdal region.
