The Michelin Guide's review
The museum of modern art bears the name of Sir Hugh Lane (1875-1915), who bequeathed the core of its collection. There are major works by Irish and French artists, including Impressionist canvases by Corot and Courbet, and the Francis Bacon Studio, purchased in 1998. The most interesting rooms are devoted to Irish artists: Paul Henry, Jack B. Yeats, Roderic O'Connor, Louis le Brocquy, etc. Contemporary art is also displayed.
