The Michelin Guide's review
The Anglican church of St Peter's was built in the mid-18C on the site of an earlier 13C church. In 1649, during the siege by Cromwell, many inhabitants sought refuge in the church and died in the fire lit by the attackers. In the surrounding graveyard are two interesting gravestones from 1561, whose shroud motifs are strangely reminiscent of the decorations found on Neolithic funeral monuments in the region.
