Description
The Gevangepoort was used as a prison from the 15C-19C (executions would take place on the De Plaats square). Several illustrious Dutchmen spent time within its walls, among them Cornelis de Witt. Today, it is home to the Prison Museum where visitors can tour the dungeon, the interrogation room, and view medieval instruments of torture.
