The Michelin Guide's review
Lined by terraces teeming with life, this square was in turn the Binnenhof's vegetable garden (16C), an ornamental garden, a tramway terminus, then a car park. Today, it is lined by various cafés and private clubs, including the De Witte, where women are not admitted. A statue of William the Silent (1848) stands at the centre of the square, which is particularly popular with office workers at the end of the day.
