Église et couvent San Francisco

The Michelin Guide's review
The huge, austere church of San Francisco (16C-17C) contains a magnificent finely carved cedar chancel. However its main appeal is the convent, which houses a handsome collection of crossbred baroque paintings from the Cuzco School. Among the latter is a huge 17C work (9m by 12m) depicting the family tree of Saint Francis of Assisi, including no less than 683 figures. Also keep your eyes peeled in the refectory for the Last Supper by Diego de la Puente (17C) of Flemish influence.
