The Michelin Guide's review
When it opened in 1977, in Lancaster County, the National Clock and Watch Museum had some 1 000 pieces dedicated to clock-making. Now, it exhibits over 12 000 objects, watches, navigational instruments, watchmaking tools. Several videos and reconstructions of workshops present the works of watchmakers throughout the ages. The highlight of the visit is the incredible Engle Monumental Clock (1878), considered by some at the time to be the eighth wonder of the world.
