The Michelin Guide's review
Don't bother counting them: there are 106! Colmar's most famous house owes its name to the laughing or smiling faces that adorn the panels of the magnificent oriel window, which spans three stories, and the mullions and transoms of the other windows of this legacy of Renaissance Colmar. Built in 1609 by a wealthy merchant, the stone edifice is in striking contrast with the other half-timbered houses dating from the 17C.
