The Michelin Guide's review
The ground floor of the birthplace of Auguste Bartholdi (1834 - 1904) houses models used by the artist for the monuments he created in Colmar. The first floor is furnished as it would have been during the artist's lifetime and evokes his life and work, from the Lion of Belfort and the Vercingetorix in Clermont-Ferrand to the Statue of Liberty in New York. Many of his works, such as the statue of General Rapp, monument to Admiral Bruat, and Roesselmann fountain, can be admired in the streets of Colmar.
