The Michelin Guide's review
Inspired by the 1893 Chicago World's Fair, in 1903 Cleveland's leaders devised a plan to erect a group of public buildings. Their work, set on a T-shaped series of grassy alleys, yielded some of the city's Beaux-Arts and Renaissance Revival jewels. These include the Cuyahoga County Courthouse (1912), the neo-Classical City Hall, the Public Auditorium (1922), now the city's convention centre, and the Federal Building (1911).
