Chorin Abbey
The Green Guide
The Michelin Guide's review
The remains of the abbey, which was built from 1273 onwards by the Cistercian monks of Lehnin and has been partly restored, is one of the finest examples of brick architecture in Northern Germany. The church is designed to a basilica floor plan, with three naves and a seven-sided apse. The west façade has stair turrets and three bays crowned by a rose window. The only monastery buildings to have survived are the abbot's residence, the brewery and the remains of an old mill.
