The Michelin Guide's review
Remarkable in both design and curriculum, the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) occupies a campus that broadly fulfils the project of famous Modernist, Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, who came to direct the institute's architecture school in 1938 having fled Nazi Germany. The institute has garnered an international reputation for excellence in the fields of technology and design. The S. R. Crown Hall (1956), seat of the architecture school, is the masterpiece of the campus.
