The Michelin Guide's review
The lucky residents of eastern Old Town built their homes in the open land adjacent to Lincoln Park. Completed in 1874, before the strict fire laws were brought in, the ornate Frederick Wacker House is embellished with incised woodwork and other Victorian detail. Very different façades span nos 1826 to 1834. These red-brick Ann Halsted town houses were built in 1884 and 1885 by Louis Sullivan and Dankmar Adler in a pared-down Queen Anne style.
