The Michelin Guide's review
The competition to design Chicago's new library was won by architects Hammond, Beeby & Babka. Designed in 1991 in a grandiose style, this public building boasts Classical arcaded façades, ornamental garlands and an exceptional roofline of green metal and glass decorated with menacing-looking owls. Unless you are visiting the library for research purposes, the interior has no particular striking points of interest.
