The Michelin Guide's review
Even if the building you see is an 1866 reconstruction (inside, however, is one of the most attractive Italianate theatres in Europe), the decorative fire curtain is original, painted by Louis Vacca in 1824. It depicts the Descent of Orpheus into the Inferno. It pays tribute to the actor and local boy, Charles Dullin, who ensured the reputation of the Parisian Atelier theatre.
