The Michelin Guide's review
In 1716, Philip V closed the six Catalan universities, creating a single centre of higher education in Cervera, a monumental work of 18C Catalan civic architecture. The baroque style exterior façade (1726-1740) and the interior façade (around 1751) have two patios separated by a magnificent chapel or amphitheatre, prettily decorated by the large alabaster retable (1780-1787) by Jaume Padró, which is a brilliant baroque work of art.
