Château de Vêves
The Green Guide
The Michelin Guide's review
This elegant castle, overlooking the hamlet, belonged to the Beauforts since the 12C, then to the counts of Liedekerle Beaufort. One of those lords took part in the 1466 Siege of Dinant, so the town's inhabitants destroyed his fortress. It was soon rebuilt, then altered during the Renaissance and in the early 18C. Note the arched gallery topped with half-timbering in the courtyard. The carefully-restored interior contains 18C French furniture.
