Kilmore Cathedral
The Green Guide
The Michelin Guide's review
The cathedral, standing alone in a small wooded valley, is dedicated to Saint Felim (Fethlimidh) who brought Chritianity to the region in the 6C. This Anglican neo-Gothic cathedral is also known as the Bedell Memorial Church and was completed in 1860. On the north side, it has a 12C Romanesque portal which comes either from a previous church or from Trinity Abbey, which stood on one of the islands on Lough Oughter.
