The Michelin Guide's review
A true citadel standing on a mound (589 m), the golden silhouette of the castle dominates the village and offers marvellous views over the Salt Mountain. Rebuilt in the 18C, today, it now houses the parador of Cardona but has kept some of its 11C elements: the collegiate and the famous Torre de la Minyona (Tower of the Damsel). Tradition has it that this tower, demolished in the 18C, was the prison of Adelaide, daughter of a viscount of Cardona.
