The Michelin Guide's review
La Oliva is one of the first Cistercian monasteries built by monks from France during the lifetime of St Bernard of Clairvaux. The façade of the 12C church is extremely plain, elegantly setting off the perfection of the lines of its portal and two rose windows. Inside, the nave is surprisingly spacious. The 15C cloister consists of Gothic architecture built on top of the original construction.
