Built in 1826 according to new techniques using glass and iron, the neo-Classical building was intended to be the site of the National Garden (transferred in 1950 to Meise). The large greenhouses and orangeries are now home to the Cultural Centre of the French community (concerts, exhibitions, theatre). From the parvis and park, the view over the skyscrapers of the business district is striking, by both day and night.
