The Michelin Guide's review
Built in 1867 in the Gothic Revival style, the Wool Exchange was the centre of the world's wool trade until trading came to an end in the 1960s. The statues at the entrance portray Bishop Blaise, patron saint of wool combers, and Edward III, who encouraged the growth of the wool industry. Today the building is home to offices and restaurants.
