The Michelin Guide's review
The locus of Boston's long period of maritime prosperity, the waterfront fell on hard times in the 20C with the decline of the shipping business and the construction of a highway overpass that severed the waterfront from the rest of the city. Since the 1960s the area has rebounded with a flurry of hotel construction and adaptive re-use projects, as well as the establishment of the popular New England Aquarium.
