The Michelin Guide's review
Occupying the Hôtel de Lalande (1779), one of the city's finest mansions, this museum takes visitors on a fascinating journey to bourgeois Bordeaux in the 18C and 19C. Admire typically Bordeaux-style furnishings and objects such as tin-glazed earthenware and inlaid items of furniture. The Raymond Jeanvrot collection, the family of whom were part of Bordeaux creole society, highlights the city's relationship with the colonies of the French West Indies. One room is devoted to design from the 1950s to the present day.
