A UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1998, Basilique St Seurin has a west porch (11C) that is buried because it was banked up in the 18C. The huge interior has a handsome bishop's throne made of stone (14C-15C), retables decorated respectively with 14 low reliefs and 12 alabaster panels. The crypt (11C) has Gallo-Roman columns and capitals, fine sculpted marble sarcophagi (6C) and the tomb (17C) of St Fort.
