The Michelin Guide's review
This 13C palace, adjacent to the Palace of the Magistrate, has a beautiful interior courtyard and a magnificent staircase. It is named after the son of Emperor Frederick II Hohenstaufen, who after beating the Bolognese in 1249, was imprisoned here for the rest of his life.
