The Michelin Guide's review
The valley is dotted with peaceful villages nestling within the recesses of the mountains. Bocognano, concealed among chestnut trees, faces the mountain range of Mt d'Oro. Standing at a height of 640m, its cool air, and its proximity to the Vizzavona Forest and the tall mountains of the island make the town a pleasant stop on the road from Ajaccio to Bastia. 3.5km to the south, be sure to pass by the beautiful Cascade du Voile de la Mariée and, a little further away, the statue menhir of Tavera (late Bronze Age).
