The Michelin Guide's review
This mine, in existence for three centuries, produces some 90 tonnes of salt a day. It contains over 50km of galleries, piping, wells and staircases, originally hacked out with sledgehammers. The visit to the section of the mines that has been turned into a museum takes place on board a little train and on foot, enabling you to see how the salt is collected first-hand.
