By merging their embassies in Berlin, the five Nordic countries have been as innovative in diplomacy as they have been in architecture. The project was developed by the Austro-Finnish agency Berger & Parkinnen Wien. A winding ribbon of supple copper strips surrounds and unites the complex, which contains separate buildings for each of the embassies, designed by different architects. Their size and location reflect the proportions and geography of each country.
