This unique museum portrays life in the former East Germany. Various aspects of daily existence are explored through a variety of exhibits: consumption and price controls, the difficulty of finding some products, the secret services, and even holidays with souvenir photos. The two highlights are climbing into a Trabi, the legendary East German car, and visiting the model apartment, where the TV in the living room broadcasts one of the era's most popular programmes.
