The Michelin Guide's review
This bridge, which links Kreuzberg to Friedrichshain, once marked the border between the East and West. Its restoration in the 1990s brought new life to its turrets, gables and crenellated arcades. Built in neo-Gothic style (1896), it is reminiscent of Tower Bridge in London. The bridge takes its name from the toll dyke made from tree trunks (Baum) which stood on this spot in the 18C.
