The Michelin Guide's review
In the 16C, the Kurfürstendamm was nothing more than a track that enabled the Prince Electors to reach a hunting lodge at Grunewald. Between 1882 and 1886, Bismarck had it transformed into a prestigious avenue. Now 3.5km/2mi-long, the "Ku'damm" is the nerve centre of the smart Charlottenburg neighbourhood and lined in cafés, restaurants, theatres, cinemas, night clubs and trendy boutiques.
