The Michelin Guide's review
Built to celebrate the centenary of Frederick II's accession to the throne in 1840, this park was intended to provide a green lung for the working-class areas of the East. Footpaths cross this vast wooded area and climb up two hills formed by rubble from the war. To the south, a cemetery, the Friedhof der Märzgefallenen, houses the tombs of victims from the March 1848 revolution. The delightful fairy-tale fountain (1913) lies to the west of the park, with an amusement park to the east.
