The Michelin Guide's review
Nikolaikirche is the oldest existing monument in Berlin (1230). The Romanesque basilica, with a Gothic chancel (1380), was turned into a hall church and topped with a double neo-Gothic bell tower. It houses a permanent exhibition devoted to its own history, that of its benefactors and those buried here. Inside you will see lavish funerary monuments, religious art and sculpture from the Gothic period to the 18C.
