Description
This large group of courtyards (Höfe) in the Scheunenviertel district was built in 1906. The eight courtyards, all very different in style, are home to apartments, offices, shops, restaurants, a theatre and a cinema. Designed in the Jugendstil style by August Endell, the first courtyard sports a magnificent façade of colourful varnished bricks. The complex was restored after the Fall of the Wall and has become a popular tourist spot.
