The Michelin Guide's review
The statue of Frederick II on horseback stands proudly gazing at his castle (currently undergoing reconstruction). Christian Daniel Rauch was commissioned to create the equestrian statue in the middle of the 19C, marking the beginning of the realistic style in Berlin sculpture. Removed to Potsdam from 1951-80, it has returned to its former position in the middle of Unter den Linden.
