The Green Guide
The Michelin Guide's review
Work began in the 16C, then the gardens were altered by Prince Claude-Lamoral II's plans after advice from formal landscape gardeners. Prince Charles-Joseph Il added a pleasure garden. The park is laid out around a vista several miles long, the Grande Vue, which leads to the Great Neptune Basin (16 ha), adorned with a group of statues dedicated to the Roman Sea God. Around the basin, alternating arbours and ponds are an enticing setting for a stroll.
