Tourelles Gallo-Roman Farmhouse
The Green Guide
The Michelin Guide's review
This 17C farm, built on the site of the ruins of a Gallo-Roman villa and surrounding farm land, contains a working reproduction of a Roman wine cellar: the various vats, rammers, jars, and wine presses give you an idea of how winemakers worked in ancient times. Visitors may even taste the "archaeological" wines produced on-site, such as the muslum or the turriculae. The sheepfold, cellar and farm house all contain an assortment of archaeological materials recovered in the vicinity.
