The Michelin Guide's review
The entry to the sanctuary, or vihear, is guarded by two magnificent white (sor) elephants (domrei). The surrounding statues each illustrate a slice of the life of the Buddha, such as the meeting with the green-faced "dead" man. The vihear was built in 1904 at the urging of one of the wives of the town's Siamese governor. Its walls are adorned with bas-reliefs retracing the Reamker, a Khmer version of the Ramayana and a common theme for pagodas in the neighbouring country.
