The Michelin Guide's Opinion
This museum, housed in a former church, is devoted to the History of the Civilisation of the Upper Rhine, and Basel in particular. Visitors can admire rare 15C tapestries, a coin cabinet, a collection of weapons and terrestrial globes and an amazing curiosity cabinet. Several religious sculptures and stained-glass windows are also exhibited, together with fragments of the Danse macabre by K. Witz (15C), a fresco created during the era of the Council of Basel.
