The Michelin Guide's review
A working-class town, independent from Barcelona until 1897, republican through and through, Gràcia jealously guards its Catalan identity and libertarian spirit: the Catalan flags on the balconies of the buildings and the many graffiti on the walls set the tone. You will enjoy its intimate, almost village atmosphere of narrow streets, lively little squares and terraces where you can have a drink as you watch the children play.
