The Michelin Guide's review
With the construction of this hospital complex (1401), Barcelona's health services were merged, endowing the city with a fine example of civil architecture. As soon as you enter the narrow passage leading to the monumental buildings of the former hospital, you will notice the façade of the Convalescent Home (Casa Convalescència), whose plain appearance belies a hall adorned with exuberant colourful mosaic friezes and a quiet patio with two storeys of Tuscan columns. The central patio is impressively large.
