The Michelin Guide's review
The ascent to the top (1,530ft) of this mountain provides views of Eagle Lake (the largest body of freshwater in the park), Bar Harbor and the islands below. The mountain was named after the Frenchman Antoine de La Mothe Cadillac, master of Mount Desert Island in the late 17C. Marked footpaths on the peak's arid slopes boast superb views of Frenchman Bay and Acadia National Park.
