Saint-Pierre church
The Green Guide
The Michelin Guide's review
This church built between 1540 and 1550 has survived intact. The frieze on the outside depicts the exploits and titles of Galiot de Genouillac. Such decoration – sieges of towns and battles, horsemen, infantrymen and artillerymen – is unusual on a religious building and represents an irreplaceable record for military historians. The chapel vault with a sixteen-pointed star-shaped plan forms a dome supported by squinches, in a remarkable and extremely rare effect.
