An ideal starting point to find out more about the different styles of Kyushu pottery, this prefectural museum exhibits and explains in detail the characteristics of each period. Five rooms are devoted respectively to the history of local ceramics, early examples of Imari-yaki pottery, Kakiemon and Kanbara collections pieces, masterpieces from Hizen Kokaratsu and Nabeshima Ware, and above all, 1000 Arita-yaki pieces from the Shibata collection dating from the Edo Period.
