In the northern part of Zuid, a trendy district of young Belgian designers, this museum is housed in a late-19C building that has been attractively remodelled by architect Marie-José van Hee. The theme-based exhibitions allow visitors to admire historical pieces (costumes, lace, accessories, fabrics etc) and contemporary items, and to follow the development of fashion over the years. The building is also home to the Flanders Fashion Institute and the Fashion Department of the Academy of Fine Arts.
